Mr. Jean-Raymond Abrial (born in November, 1938), a world-wide prestigious French computer scientist，was a professor at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ). He is also a member of European Academy of Sciences.

Prof. Abrial is the founder of B-Method, a method of developing safety-critical software systems. He is also a pioneer in applying B-Method to develop industry-level safety-critical software. B-Method was firstly proposed by Prof. Abrial in the 1990s, and quickly became mathematical foundation of the formal development of dependable software. The method has been world-wide adopted and applied in the fields of industrial control system, and becomes a landmarked technique for the safety assurance of industrial IT products. 

Prof. Abrial has been engaged in collaboration with East China Normal University since 2005, and conducted a wide and in-depth research ranging from theoretical foundation to industrial application. He was the first who introduced B-Method into China for the safety assurance of system-level industrial control software. Thanks to his efforts, the capabilities of developing China’s related products were drastically improved to internationally competitive level. With his help, many safe-critical software systems were successfully designed and developed, and many enterprises became capable of developing such systems independently. As a leading academic master, he is starred in the Program of Intelligence Introduction for Innovation at Chinese Universities (MoE/SAFEA). He spared no efforts in introducing international academic resources to China. He also helped the East China Normal University establish the National Joint International Research Centre for Trustworthy Software, which was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology. 

 The awarding ceremony of the 2016 National Science and Technology International Cooperation Award was held on January 9th, 2017 at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The adjunct professor of the School of Computer Science and Software Engineering at East China Normal University, a famous French computer scientist, Jean-Raymond Abria won the International Science and Technology Cooperation Award of the People's Republic of China. East China Normal University is the only institution in Shanghai with the award.

Prof. Abrial also cooperated with East China Normal University and China Aerospace Science and Technology Group to formally verify the aerospace embedded operating system. The relevant operating system was applied to many satellites such as the Chang'e III. He cooperated with China Electronics Group and obtained the OSEK international certification after formal verification of the industrial control operating system and deployed it on 700,000 domestically produced vehicles.

 

Professor Abrial and East China Normal University jointly established the International Summer School of Trustworthy Software. He is also an expert of the “111 project” at ECNU

Nous vivons dans un monde ultra "clean". Vous ne le saviez pas ? 

Il faut tout écrire au présent (voyez les copies du fameux brevet des collèges 5.0). Faudra que je le dise au président chinois quand il viendra visiter le Périgord vert avec ses bottes Baudou, fidélouère ! 

 

J'achète si possible du "made in Limousin" mais c'est clair je suis vendu aux Chinois du nord. D'ailleurs je n'ai pas acheté d'ordinateur Thomson fabriqué à Cholet. Pourtant on a une 4 voies pour aller à Cholet !  

Remarquons que J.R- Abrial était le gars qui appelait un Système de Gestion de Bases de données, Socrate et mettait une citation de Proust en tête d'un de ses articles. 

Ce fut toujours un "indépendant".
