"William Sherrill graduated from the University of Texas in San Antonio in 2005 with a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance. But his undergraduate honors thesis was written on the analysis of an unknown manuscript page, transmitting the Mass Proper for St. Agatha. The ensuing adventure and discovery working on the provenance and date of this page led to graduate school in historical musicology at the University of Texas at Austin. He received a Master of Music in Musicology from the University of Texas in 2007 and now, as a Ph. D. candidate, he is working on a dissertation on the Gradual of St. Yrieix and its place in the ecclesiastical society of eleventh-century Aquitaine. Other interests relate to eighteenth-century music of the Catholic Church, in reaction to which the Gregorian Chant wing of twentieth century musicology was built. "
