This Warden Message alerts U.S. citizens to avoid demonstrations currently
taking place in France.



According to media reports, there have been isolated outbursts of violence and lawlessness in Lyon, western Paris (Nanterre), and other Frenchcities.



We remind U.S. citizens that even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and possibly escalate into violence. You should avoid these areas and exercise caution if within the vicinity. U.S. citizens should stay current with media coverage of local events and be aware of their surroundings at all times.



Since the situation in France regarding strikes and their impact on travel is somewhat unpredictable, we recommend that you maintain close contact with your airline to determine if there are last-minute changes to your flight schedule or cancellations. You should also monitor French news sites, many of which are available in English. If you plan to rent a car, contact your rental agency for the latest fuel situation in your intended area of travel.
